Performance luxury meets multifunctional deconstruction and conceptual art in this three-way collaboration between Feng Chen Wang, Canada Goose and Chinese contemporary artist Xu Zhen.
For the 2022 Autumn/Winter joint capsule series, Feng melded Canada Goose’s performance credentials and Zhen’s conceptual art series “Under Heaven” through her “future modern” lens for a 12-piece collection, with versatility at its fore via deconstructable elements - quintessential for transitional fall weather and winter layering.
Each piece is designed to offer versatile styling and multiple looks, depending on the wearer’s preference. The Sense Blazer, made with recycled windproof fabric, can be worn as a blazer or vest and includes a removable belt with a detachable pouch while the Roebuck Parka, composed of a water repellent textile intended for extreme conditions, can be styled as either a parka or a vest, with a drawcord at the waist and side zippers for adaptability. The collaboration also features Canada Goose’s first-ever collaborative footwear silhouette, with Feng reinterpreting the Journey Boots with denim and hardware donning contrasting tones, as well as a removable upper collar.
Created with pastry bags filled with oil colours, Zhen's “Under Heaven” presents a decadent candy, or a fallen city of desire belonging to humanity’s grand festival with its flowing noises and great momentum. The colourful cake piping patterns also reflect the Chinese trend of global enjoyment.
